GsMoviePlayer

Current Rev 1.0.6

Last Updated 4/21/2001

download GsMoviePlayer about 2.6 Meg

If you already have GsMoviePlayer installed just get the .exe and copy it over the old one

What is it?

It's a slideshow movie player that is a new front end for microsoft's media player. It has a playlist that you choose from the files or your system and it plays the movies one after the other until the end of the playlist is reached. It requires that microsoft media player (TM) revision 6 or newer is installed on your system.

What's in store

In future versions I plan on adding Real Media player and Quicktime components to the player portion . Additionally the playlist side will get revamped to do any order you wish instead of the current alphabetical. You will also be able to save and load playlists. You will also be able to set GsMoviePlayer as your default movie player for whichever movie types you wish. You can also select which component will be used to play whatever kind of file extension you want. Example: You will assign .avi's to microsft component and mp3's to Real and .mov's to quicktime. Because it will use the three companies players sound files will also be playable and listable and assingable to the new player.

Version 1.0.6 Release Notes
GsMoviePlayer is a slideshow movie player.

It's a very simple install. Just run the executable. Then run the program created.
NOTE:It's basically a new front end to Microsoft's latest media player. If you don't yet have Micrsoft's latest media player go get it at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/mediaplayer/download/default.asp
If you have existing files during the install always accept the recommendation shown.
One way you can tell if you need a new microsoft media player to run GsMoviePlayer is the install will not produce errors (other than file exists) only if the required media player is already in place on your machine. So if you get errors (besides files existing already) go get the player and install it and then re-install mine.

All directions are listed next to their actions in the menus or are self evident except for a few things:
shift-enter - gets you into full screen mode till you decide otherwise
alt-enter - is the only way to get out of full screen mode or if not in full screen mode already, it will put you into full screen mode for the duration of the current movie.
right-click - on the movie will do the same as an F5 key or play/pause from the play menu.
double-click - in the movie selection dialog box will move the double-clicked file.
- In the selection list screen whatever movie is selected is what file the program starts at and then goes down the list from there. For example if you had a directory with a couple hundred files and didn't want to add them one by one, move all the files in to the list and simply select the one you want to start playing at. Note it will stop at the bottom of the list and not wrap around.
